Wood Industry

Our solutions for the wood industries

Whether it is harvesting or finished products, the wood industry covers a wide range of activities. Numerous markets stem from this sector of excellence:
  • Timber and construction
  • Primary processing wood
  • Wood for secondary processing
  • Energy wood
  • The pulp and cellulose fibre market

Wood dusts are dangerous for operators and their environment

Impact on operators' health

Wood dust emitted during processing operations can be inhaled and cause respiratory diseases, the most serious forms of which are cancers of the nasopharynx, nasal cavity and facial sinuses. These dusts are classified as proven carcinogens (Group 1) by the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer).
In France, between 310,000 and 360,000 employees would be exposed to wood dust. It is the second most common cause of work-related cancers.

Impact on the company's activity

Other risks inherent in the dust generated: fire (10% of fires in industrial environments) and the most serious ... explosion.
This can also be caused by chemical products (fire retardants, preservatives, glues, paints, varnishes, etc.) used to treat the wood.
The dispersed dust will also clog the floors and damage the production tools.
This results in a risk of slipping for operators, worsening working conditions and degrading the quality of the products manufactured.

Regulatory compliance

Woodworking (sawmills, carpentry, furniture, vocational schools, etc.), which involves awkward positions in contact with machines, all too often leads to accidents and occupational illnesses. Pour les prévenir, la mise en œuvre de mesures de prévention est primordiale. To prevent them, the implementation of preventive measures is essential. The main risks in the wood industry are mainly related to explosion and exposure.

Your installation must comply with the standards in force:  NF-EN-12779 standard 2016 edition ( design of dust and wood chip extraction systems ), ATEX guidelines , INRS ED 750 Guides  (  ventilation second transformation of wood ), ED 6021 ( fire and explosion in the wood industry ), Labour code R4412-149 ( ELV = Exposure Limit Value < 1mg/m3 ), R4222-14 & R4222-17 ( air recirculation)

Our engineers analyse your needs with you and propose a solution that meets your project. On site, the assembly teams take care of the installation of the unit in compliance with safety regulations. At each stage of the production process, Delta NEU provides you with tailor-made, turnkey solutions for the protection of people and your processes.

We provide you with optimal solutions while maintaining the ergonomics of your workstations:

  • Wood dust extraction on portable tools
  • Cleaning of workshops with a central vacuum cleaner
  • Suction of sawdust and chips on the machine
  • Smoke extraction, solvent and air compensation

Our services

Once commissioning is complete, we measure the air velocities and pressure drops of each machine and at different points of the suction manifold(s), the motor intensities as well as the noise levels. To ensure the longevity of your systems, our Customer Service department is able to offer you: original spare parts for your installation, upgrading of existing installations and maintenance contracts.
